The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the use of the pain-relieving drug Celebrex to treat rheumatoid arthritis in patients aged 15 years and older.
The move came in response to the concerns of a report that suggested that the anti-inflammatory drug may reduce the risk of fatal heart attack, stroke and death in patients with ankylosing spondylitis.
The report from the American College of Rheumatology (ACRS) found that the drug had an effect on a small percentage of patients who had previously suffered an attack of arthritis and had had a heart attack or stroke while taking the pain-relieving drug.
The FDA said it was considering an extension to allow use of the drug in patients who had already suffered an attack of arthritis or had a heart attack. Those patients who received the drug will have to be diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis to determine if it is safe for them to take it.
“This was not a study of patients with a specific indication for pain relief, but rather a study of patients who are taking the drug and have previously suffered an attack of arthritis and had a heart attack,” said the report. “It is important that this study be conducted in patients who have a history of rheumatoid arthritis and have a history of heart attacks or stroke.”
The FDA said it was reviewing the findings of the study. However, it is not certain whether the drug may reduce the risk of heart attacks, stroke or death in patients with ankylosing spondylitis.
Dr. John C. Smith, an orthopedic surgeon at the University of Michigan Medical School, said the drug may also have a greater effect on the risk of ankylosing spondylitis in patients who have had ankylosing spondylitis.
He said he had received the drug from a patient who had been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and had previously suffered a heart attack. He said his patient was given Celebrex, which contains celecoxib, to treat the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.
Smith said he was concerned that it might not be safe to take the drug with certain other medications such as aspirin, warfarin and other NSAIDs.
The FDA said it is reviewing the drug’s clinical data to make sure it is safe for patients.

Celebrex is currently being studied in more than 100 patients for pain relief.
The drug is in Phase 2 studies and is available in the U. on prescription.
Patients who are eligible for the drug should be prescribed it in accordance with the dosage guidelines.
The FDA is also evaluating the safety and efficacy of the drug for patients with rheumatoid arthritis who have had a heart attack or stroke.
The FDA said it is reviewing the results of the study to make sure it is safe for patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The study found that the drug was associated with an increased risk of fatal heart attack, stroke and death in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
“These findings suggest that Celebrex, like other NSAIDs, may be associated with a greater risk of fatal heart disease than other NSAIDs,” the FDA said.

In conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, excess production of prostaglandins by your body can lead to pain and inflammation. This medicine works by decreasing the production of prostaglandins, effectively reducing pain and inflammation.

Celebrex, also known by its generic name celecoxib, is a medication used primarily to treat pain and inflammation associated with conditions such as arthritis and osteoarthritis. It belongs to a class of drugs called NSAIDs. Celebrex is a selective inhibitor of the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes that produce prostaglandins. The prostaglandins cause inflammation and pain in the body. This is a common side effect of NSAIDs. Celebrex helps alleviate the symptoms of arthritis and other conditions by reducing the production of prostaglandins. It can also be used for treating other types of pain that can occur after surgery, such as those that affect the back or jaw. It is important to note that Celebrex is not a cure for arthritis. However, it is still a treatment that can help relieve pain and decrease inflammation in conditions like osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Your doctor will prescribe Celebrex based on your medical history and response to treatment.
Warning:This medicine may cause a severe allergic reaction, especially in people allergic to aspirin.
